CSD Virtual Learning Center (VLC) Recognized as Laureate by the Computerworld Honors Program

The CSD Virtual Learning Center (VLC) and New Links to New Learning (NLNL) have been recognized as a Laureate by the annual Computerworld Honors Program. The VLC staff was contacted in late March by Polycom notifying them of the nomination, which honors individuals and organizations who use information technology to benefit society.
For twenty years, the Computerworld Honors Program, a multi-faceted annual awards program has recognized IT professionals globally for best practices that have been especially noteworthy. The CSD Virtual Learning Center and New Links to New Learning began in 1998 and according to Ruth Litman-Block, director of the VLC, “We are now one of the oldest videoconferencing programs in the country. It is very exciting to receive the 2009 Laureate Medal, which is a true credit to our entire staff."  Overall, 100 companies were nominated from across the country and were evaluated to ensure they meet Computerworld Honors Program standards.

Ruth Litman-Block will now attend the 2009 Laureate Medal and Gala Awards Ceremony on June 1 in Washington, D.C. to accept the award on behalf of the CSD Virtual Learning Center and New Links to New Learning.
