49 new names have been added to the graduation list of the
Sanford N. McDonnell Leadership Academy for Character Education
(LACE). Following a year-long experience that included a series of
full-day workshops, site visits to exemplary schools, monthly
written assignments and attendance at Cooperating School Districts
annual character education conference, 49 St. Louis-area educators
recently graduated from the academy. The list of graduates includes
principals, assistant principals, counselors and classroom
teachers.
LACE is a joint program funded by CHARACTERplus, a project of
Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc. (CSD) and
the College of Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
However, thanks to the generosity of Sandy McDonnell, participants
were able to complete the rigorous, year-long program at no cost to
the participant, his or her school or the district.
