Navaho Nation Book Drive a Huge Success
CSD and St. Louis RPDC assist in the creation of children's library
A book drive launched by the Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc. (CSD) and the St. Louis Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) has proved to be a huge success. Through the RPDC Reading First Program, 1,000 books were donated, which is enough to fully stock one small children’s library for the Navaho Nation. This effort puts books in the hands of children who otherwise have limited opportunities.
The book drive, which began in August included baby board books, children’s picture books, paperback easy readers, dictionaries and paperback juvenile literature/chapter books.
A Navaho Nation representative will soon deliver the donated books to Arizona.
