WHEELS: A Train the Trainer Program for Administrators and Bus Supervisors

Podcast discussing CHARACTERplus bully prevention program now available

CHARACTERplus, a project of the Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc. (CSD) is presenting a workshop entitled, WHEELS Makes Buses Safe. The workshop will be held November 5 from 8:30 to noon at the Fox Services Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, MO.

WHEELS Makes Buses Safe partners bus drivers with school administrators, teachers, parents and students to prevent bullying and build caring communities on the bus.

WHEELS, a program created in 2007 offers a comprehensive focus that builds community on the bus.  Envisioning buses as classrooms on wheels, this approach recognizes drivers as the first educators’ students meet in the morning.  They are partners with school personnel and parents in reinforcing the core values of the school community.

Presenters include Diane Stirling, CHARACTERplus; Jaime Lavanchy, assistant principal, Fox High School; and Stephanie Conley, assistant director of transportation, Fox School District

To register for the November 5 Train the Trainer program, please contact Brenda Kirchoff at 314.692.9736 or bkirchoff@csd.org
