CSD Honors National Schools of Character
Two St. Louis-area schools and one district receive award
The Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc.
(CSD) congratulates two local CHARACTERplus schools and one
district as winners of the 2009 National School of Character
Award.
A blue ribbon panel of the Character Education Partnership (CEP)
recently made their selections. The St. Louis-area CHARACTERplus
schools and district are: Bayless Junior High School (Bayless
School District); Long Elementary School (Lindbergh School
District); and the Fox C-6 School District.
“All of the winners are wonderful exemplars of how comprehensive
character education can truly transform school culture and climate,
which in turn allows students and teachers to flourish,” said CEP
Executive Director Joe Mazzola.
The St. Louis-area 2009 National School of Character Award winners
will receive their award and grant at CEP’s 16th National Forum on
Character Education, Citizens of Character-the Foundation of
Democracy, in Washington, D.C. in October.
