University City High School Teacher Named 2008-2009 Missouri Teacher of the Year

The Cooperating School Districts of Greater St. Louis, Inc. (CSD) congratulates University City High School social studies teacher Margaret Williams.  Williams was recently named the recipient of the 2008-2009 Missouri Teacher of the Year Award.

Williams, one of six finalist for the statewide award has been an educator for 37 years, 18 of which with the University City School District.  During her time as a University City School District teacher, she has taught Honors U.S. Government, U.S. History, World History, and the African American Experience to students at University City High School.   

As the 2008-2009 Missouri Teacher of the Year recipient, Williams automatically becomes a candidate in the National Teacher of the Year program.  She will be honored on November 19 during a special ceremony in Jefferson City.
