2008 Midwest Education Technology Conference is a Success

More than 1,400 attendees helped celebrate 25 years of excellence in educational technology

The Midwest Education Technology Conference (METC), hosted by the Cooperating School Districts, was recently held Feb. 4-6 at the St. Charles Convention Center. Nancy George, program manager for METC 2008, is happy to report a record attendance of 1,400 registrants. George adds, "The record attendance combined with our 25th Anniversary and new location go hand-in-hand.  We have received some great feedback already."

METC 2008 is held annually for K-12 educators to share best practices using technology as a learning tool in the classroom and to see the latest instructional technology software and emerging technologies available for education in the 21st Century.

For 25 years, METC has provided excellence in educational technology and continued that tradition with exciting keynote presenters and experienced, innovative speakers that helped keep attendees informed as to what’s available to make the classroom a 21st Century classroom. More than 140 sessions on the latest and most requested topics were offered.  A new, expanded exhibit hall with 80 exhibit booths was available for conference attendees to view latest technology innovations in software and hardware.

Cooperating School Districts (CSD) is an education consortium serving 65 public school districts in Missouri and Illinois.  CSD strives to share the latest in emerging technologies and provide an opportunity for educators working with or interested in data-driven decision making to improve student achievement.
