Four Area Teachers Honored With CSD Scholarship Awards

 

The Cooperating School Districts (CSD) recently presented four area teachers with scholarship awards.  The scholarships are given on an annual basis to assist highly deserving teachers with the opportunity to continue their professional development.

            Samantha Bax-Danz and Penny Tracy, with the Union R-XI School Districts were presented with scholarship awards.  Bax-Danz, a special education teacher at Union Middle School is the recipient of the Robert D. Elsea Scholarship Award established in honor of Dr. Robert D. Elsea, who served as CSD’s executive director for 21 years.  Tracy, an English teacher at Union High School is the recipient of the CSD Insurance Trust Scholarship Award.

            Julie Knocke, an elementary teacher with the Lincoln County R-III School District has been selected the recipient of the Gerald D. Troester Scholarship Award.  The scholarship award was established in honor of Dr. Gerald Troester, who served as CSD’s executive director for five years.  Bridget A. Maret, a teacher with the Clayton School District, has been selected the recipient of the Gary K. Wright Scholarship Award.  The scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Gary K. Wright, who served as CSD’s executive director for nine years. 

            The Cooperating School Districts’ Board of Directors presented the award to the four area teachers at their annual Spring Conference Meeting of school board members and superintendents held at the Ferguson-Florissant School District on April 19.

Cooperating School Districts is a non-profit educational consortium of 63 public school districts in Missouri and Illinois.
